Englewood (N.J.) Health became the first hospital in the state to add Globus Medical's Excelsius Ecosystem.
The Excelsius Ecosystem combines the ExcelsiusGPS robot with the new Excelsius3D imaging system, according to a June 27 news release. Images of the patient's anatomy are imported to the technology, which is used to help the physician create a surgical plan.
"This technology takes us to the next era of spine surgery," Kevin Yao, MD, chief of neurosurgery at Englewood Health, said in the release. "It facilitates more precise and more minimally invasive spine surgery, which will translate into shorter patient recoveries and better outcomes."
