Two orthopedic surgeons joined the Rotation Medical scientific advisory board.
Richard Ryu, MD, is a senior attending at The Ryu Hurvitz Orthopedic Clinic. Marc Labbe, MD, is a clinical assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas medical Branch at Galveston. Both joined the Rotation Medical Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Ryu has a special interest in reconstructive shoulder and knee surgery. He is also a founding member and surgical director for Summit and Premier Surgery Centers in Santa Barbara. He is past president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and served on the society's board of directors.
Dr. Labbe has a special interest in sports medicine and serves on three committees for AANA. He completed his fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center.
"There is a significant unmet need to find a solution for rotator cuff injuries that addresses the damage to the underlying tendon tissue and enables a faster, less disruptive rehabilitation," Dr. Ryu said. "The Rotation Medical bioinductive implant is the first technology to address this need with a solution that is restorative, not simply reparative. It works to enhance the body's natural healing response by inducing growth of new tendon-like tissue."
