Longview (Texas) Regional Medical Center launched a new orthopedic program, according to a News-Journal report.
After the volume of knee and hip replacements increased over the past few years, the hospital decided to launch a new program this past October designed for:
• Mobilizing patients more quickly
• Faster recover
• Streamlined care
• Decreased costs
• Reduced complications
Patients receive education on their surgery beginning at the initial office visit and check-in before their surgical date to speed along the process, according to the report. The program also includes a new pain management regimen that eliminates strong narcotic use.
