Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, N.Y., plans to open Samaritan Orthopedics on Jan. 4, 2021, reports.

President and CEO Tom Carman said the hospital performs more than 900 orthopedic surgeries a year. The new practice will help increase the number of procedures it can perform.

Scott Mollison, MD, a sports medicine specialist who joined Samaritan in 2019, will lead the practice.

The hospital provides care for several other specialties, including general and vascular surgery, gastroenterology, plastic surgery and urology.
