Texas spine practice continues 2020 expansion — Stem cells, new center & physical therapy

San Antonio-based SASpine continues to expand this year, bolstering its physical therapy and rehabilitation department to accommodate outside patients.

Three things to know:

1. The move comes following Texas' Direct Access bill, which allows patients to see a physical therapist for treatment without a provider's referral. The legislation took effect Sept. 1.

2. SASpine recently expanded regenerative medicine services, providing stem cell treatments as an adjunct to spinal fusion.

3. In February, the practice partnered with spine surgeon Stanley Jones, MD, and established a new primary location in Houston to accommodate more local and international patients.
