Spine Hospital of Louisiana launches robotic spine surgery program: 3 things to know

Baton Rouge-based Spine Hospital of Louisiana, which is part of The NeuroMedical Center, rolled out a robotic spine surgery program, according to KSLA.

Here are three things to know:

1. Gregory Fautheree, MD, is the medical director and a neurosurgeon at the hospital. He is among those who will be utilizing the robotic surgery systems.

2. Surgeons will use CT images to create a 3D blueprint of the patient's spine prior to the operation.

3. The Spine Hospital said the robotic surgery program will boost surgical care for various spine and neurological conditions, including spinal stenosis, herniated discs, degenerative disorders and spinal trauma.
