Medscape surveyed 11,549 U.S. physicians on where they would choose to receive treatment for 10 conditions or procedures.

Here are the top five hospitals spine specialists would go for spinal cord injury treatment, according to Medscape's 2018 Physician's Choice survey:

1. Cleveland Clinic

2. New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery

3. Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital

4. Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus in Rochester, Minn.

5. The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore
