South Dakota is No. 1 state for physicians in 2018 — Which is the worst?

WalletHub analysts assessed the opportunity and competition as well as medical environment for physicians in each of the 50 states and District of Columbia.

Overall, the report identified the following as the best states for physicians in 2018:

1. South Dakota

2. Nebraska

3. Idaho

4. Iowa

5. Minnesota

And here are the five worst:

47. District of Columbia

48. Hawaii

49. New York

50. Rhode Island

51. New Jersey
