UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital opens — 5 takeaways

Gainseville-based University of Florida opened the UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital, according to The Gainseville Sun.

Here are five takeaways:

 

1. University of Florida built the hospital with patient-centered care in mind.

 

2. The university pulled in physicians, administrators, nurses, contractors and equipment specialists to advise on the layout of the building.

 

3. Professionals in neurology, neurosurgery, operating rooms, intensive care units, acute care units, patient advocacy, radiology and maintenance all chimed in on the project.

 

4. University of Florida also opened the UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital in tandem with the Neuromedicine Hospital.

 

5. The construction of the two hospitals, which called on 300 companies and 8,000 people, took 4.5 years to complete.
