3 WellStar Health System hospitals joint NeuroPoint Alliance Quality Outcomes Database: 4 key points

WellStar Health System joined NeuroPoint Alliance's Quality Outcomes Database: Lumbar and Cervical.

 

Here are fourf things to know:

 

1. The QOD is a nationwide prospective clinical registry for neurosurgical procedures and practice patterns. WellStar now has access to QOD's information to improve neurological care.

 

2. QOD tracks the quality of surgical care for common neurosurgical procedures as well as individual surgeons, practice groups, hospitals and health system with immediate infrastructure for analyzing and reporting quality.

 

3. The lumbar spine surgery registry has 87 participating centers and the cervical spine surgery registry has 20 participating centers. QOD also has a spinal deformity and neurovascular registry that are accepting new sites, and will launch QOD Tumor next year.

 

4. Both WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga., and WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga., will participate in the registries.
