Dr. Stuart Davidson named chief medical officer at Mount Desert Island: 3 takeaways

Stuart Davidson, MD, was named chief medical officer of Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor, Maine. Dr. Davidson assumes this role from Edward Glimore, MD, who retired in May after 46 years, according to Bangor Daily News.

Here are three takeaways:

 

1. Dr. Davidson's new role will include staff recruitment, development and revision of medical care protocols, promotion of ethical standards, promoting effective and improved use of medical technology and the evaluation and resolution of patient and staff concerns.

 

2. Currently, Dr. Davidson is the acting president of the Mount Desert Island Hospital medical staff.

 

3. Dr. Davidson is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He enters this new role, with more than 36 years in practice.
