Orthopedic surgeons in Los Angeles stand to receive significantly higher compensation, up to $497,211 on average per year, than orthopedic surgeons in other major cities in the United States, according to a report from PayScale.

The average orthopedic surgeon in Los Angeles makes $104,157 more than the average orthopedic surgeon in the second highest compensating city, Atlanta ($393,054). The lowest compensating city is San Diego, where surgeons make $205,579 on average, which is $291,637 less than surgeons in Los Angeles.
