United Spinal Association expressed disappointment in the House's passage of the American Health Care Act.

1. United Spinal Association believes the AHCA will harm spinal cord injury patients' health, independence and quality of life.

 

2. The bill's new amendment allows states to cut people with disabilities from the general exchange pool.

 

3. Medicaid would be cut $880 billion over 10 years under the AHCA.

 

4. United Spinal Association was founded in 1946 by paralyzed veterans.

 

United Spinal Association President and CEO Jason Weisman said, "The AHCA will hurt people with disabilities through higher healthcare costs, less coverage, and a greater risk of institutionalization."
