Rockville, Md.-based Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic opened a podiatry-only, physician-owned laboratory in Rockville.

1. The overall goal of the on-site pathology laboratory is to help FASMA provide excellent patient care.
2. The lab was recently featured in the American Podiatric Medical Association publication APMA News in an article that examined the pros and cons of an on-site pathology laboratory.
3. Opened in 2011, FASMA includes 37 physicians across 24 locations.
