5 insights into UC Health's telehealth advances

Practice Management

The University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center is collaborating with Cincinnati-based Intelemage, an image exchanged-based company, to bolster its telehealth program, according to Healthcare Informatics.

Here are four insights:

1. Through the collaboration, UC Health implemented Intelemage's services for a tumor board, where various surgeons could review images. UC Health has now integrated the system as a platform for its telestroke program.

2. The telestroke program involves 18 physicians. Patients receive CT scans, which physicians view on the Intelegrid, an exchange component. Multiple physicians at different hospitals can view the images.

3. UC Health completed 100 telestroke consultations in the last year.

4. UC Health has also piloted a primary care appointment video program and a telenephrology consult service.
