Laser Spine Institute opens Cleveland location

Practice Management

Tampa, Fla.-based Laser Spine Institute opened its new facility in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland.

Laser Spine Institute hired orthopedic spine surgeon, Jeffrey F. Shall, MD, to perform minimally invasive surgeries at the Cleveland location. The institute expects the total number of employees hired for the Cleveland location to near 50 by May 2015.

"We're excited to be here and serve the Cleveland community," said Dotty Bollinger, president and COO, Laser Spine Institute. "Neck and back pain is a major medical problem in the U.S. At some point in time, more than 80 percent of the population will suffer from this condition, and it's the single largest reason for patient visits to physician offices and hospitals every year. As we were planning to grow our reach to be more accessible for patients, we looked at existing need, and Cleveland rose to the top."

The new Cleveland center is the first of three LSI facilities opening in the Midwest by the end of the year. The other locations will be in St. Louis and Cincinnati.
