UAMS partners with local physicians to expand orthopedics services

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock partnered with the Shoulder Center of Arkansas in Fayetteville to extend its orthopedic services to Northwest Arkansas, reports Talk Business.

Four things to know:

1. The Shoulder Center of Arkansas and its therapy partner, 201: Train, Recover, Move, will become part of the UAMSHealth system in January 2020.

2. Founder of the practice Wesley Cox, MD, and orthopedic surgeon Chad Songy, MD, will both join UAMS.

3. Dr. Cox is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who founded the Shoulder Center of Arkansas in 2009.

4. Dr. Songy completed fellowship training in complex shoulder and elbow reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., earlier this year before joining the Shoulder Center of Arkansas.
