MGMA has presented its annual awards to medical practice professionals who made outstanding contributions to the profession at its annual conference.
The recipients of awards include:
• Edgar H. Silvey, CEO of The Baton Rouge (La.) Clinic, which has grown 250 percent since he took the helm
• Mischelle Ferrell, practice administrator of Cumberland Family Care PC in Sparta, Tenn., which has grown from one to three practices since she joined in 2002
• Susan Hardwick-Smith, MD, of Complete Women's Care Center in Houston, which has grown net revenue by 30 percent
• Janet E. McIntyre, principal and consultant with JEM Healthcare in Denver, who provides regulatory and legislative updates and advocates for administrative simplification and Medicare payment reform
• John C. Lincoln Physician Network in Phoenix, which created a program that retrains combat medics and corpsmen returning from Iraq and Afghanistan to serve patients through the John C. Lincoln accountable care organization
• Michael Sacopulos, JD, of Sacopulos Law Offices in Terre Haute, Ind., who authored a book about unexpected ways for getting sued.
