Cayenne Medical, a sports medicine device company focused on soft tissue reconstruction, has appointed Dev K. Mishra, MD, as medical director, according to a company news release.
In his new role, Dr. Mishra will provide counsel in the areas of medical education and clinical activities, focusing on the development of new products and the design of clinical protocols and procedures.
Dr. Mishra is an orthopedic sports medicine physician with a special interest in treating shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle disorders. He is an adviser to several venture capital firms, chief medical officer at AlterG and president of Sideline Sports Doc. He previously served as a clinical advisor to Stryker Endoscopy.
During his career, Dr. Mishra has served as a team physician for the University of California, Berkeley, and orthopedic consultant to the U.S. Soccer Federation and the California Victory professional soccer team.
