6 things to know about Globus Medical's CEO

David Demski became CEO of Globus Medical in August 2017 and has worked for the company for more than 18 years.

Six things to know:

1. Mr. Demski joined Globus Medical in 2003 as CFO. He climbed the ladder as president and CEO in 2008 and president of emerging technologies in 2015.

2. His salary in 2020 was just over $4 million: $483,972 of that was a salary, $960,000 was a bonus, and $2.5 million was received in stock options.

3. Under his leadership, Globus Medical has seen strong growth. Compared to the second quarter of 2019, the company's spine business grew more than 30 percent, according to a second quarter earnings call. The company's spine robot, Excelsius GPS robot also hit 20,000 cases globally.

4. His past work includes founding Cornerstone Capital LBO Fund, audit supervising at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and vice president of Gilo Ventures. He was also COO of Rendall and Associates and managed distribution for Domino's Pizza.

5. Axonics, a medical technology company focusing on urinary and bowel dysfunction named Mr. Demski to its board of directors in December 2020.

6. Mr. Demski attended the University of Michigan where he received his bachelor's in business administration, and he went to Stanford Graduate School of Business for an MBA.
