Smith+Nephew is expanding its Werewolf hematosis wand for orthopedic surgeons performing total joint replacements.

The Werewolf Fastseal 6 delivers hemostatic sealing during open orthopedic procedures including total joint replacements, according to an Aug. 17 news release. The technology reduces blood loss and shortens procedure time.

"With this launch we're combining our most innovative Sports Medicine technology with our leading Orthopaedic Reconstruction portfolio to offer a complete Smith+Nephew solution; one that is hugely valuable for our orthopaedic customers and their patients," Smith+Nephew Senior Vice President of Sports Medicine Scott Schaffner said.
