Here are 10 recent updates from spine and orthopedic device companies:

1. Musculoskeletal startup Hinge Health acquired Enso, a company that produces electric stimulation machines for back and joint pain.

2. Alphatec launched the InVictus Occipital-Cervical-Thoracic Spinal Fixation System and plans to lease a 75,000-square-foot facility this summer in Memphis, Tenn., for primary distribution operations.

3. NuVasive expanded its partnership with the International Spine Study Group Foundation and will participate in two clinical trials focusing on improving outcomes in adult spinal deformity surgery. 

4. The National Institutes of Health awarded the University of Louisville (Ky.) and Medtronic a $7.8 million grant to study epidural stimulation for the treatment of spinal cord injury.

5. The FDA issued a safety communication on risks associated with the Scandinavian Total Ankle Replacement device, manufactured by Stryker. 

6. Zimmer Biomet named Ivan Tornos as COO. 

7. SeaSpine has entered into an agreement to acquire 7D Surgical in a $110 million deal.

8. The FDA provided clearance for GE Healthcare's OEC 3D surgical imaging system for spine surgery and joint replacement.

9. Life Spine received 510(k) clearance from the FDA to market its Prolift Wedge Expandable Spacer System.

10. Devicemaker Camber Spine launched a set of devices and tools that surgeons can use to perform oblique lateral interbody fusion.
