The FDA granted Centinel Spine approval May 27 for the manufacturing transfer of two disc replacement systems to new vendors.

Four things to know:

1. The approval includes the prodisc C cervical total disc replacement and prodisc L lumbar total disc replacement devices.

2. The company aims to better manage its prodisc supply chain and associated costs.

3. Centinel Spine says it is the only company to receive FDA approval for both cervical and lumbar total disc replacement devices.

4. The FDA approved prodisc L for two-level indications in April.
