The FDA granted OrthoGrid Systems 510(k) clearance Dec. 18 for its PhantomMSK Trauma system used for alignment in orthopedic surgery.
Three insights:
1. PhantomMSK can be used in several procedures to assist surgeons with implant, instrument and anatomic alignment that use fluoroscopic imaging.
2. The intraoperative technology is designed to correct image distortion, which is attributed to external electromagnetic interference and mapping of the planar image on a curved input phosphor.
3. PhantomMSK aims to improve surgical workflow, precision and efficiency and contribute to reduced hospital readmissions.
