SpineGuard received a patent for its DSG digital surgical guidance technology in France and Japan.
What you should know:
1. The patient gives SpineGuard the right to map bony structures in the spine and through soft tissues.
2. When used with robots or navigation platforms, the DSG technology can reduce reliance on X-rays.
3. "Current guidance platforms require patients to undergo one or several CT scans, equivalent to several hundred X-Ray exposures with the potential for harmful effect. That is a major area for improvement for these platforms and our patent has the potential to decrease that risk while enhancing overall accuracy," said SpineGuard CEO and Co-founder Stéphane Bette.
