José Antonio Canales, MD, and Antonio Hurtado Padilla, MD, performed the first cases with Life Spine's Nautilis Thoracolumbar Spinal Fixation System at Shriners Hospital for Children in Mexico City, Mexico.

Here are three things to know:

1. The system features a variety of screw, hook and rod options, with specialized instruments to correct sagittal and coronal imbalances.

2. Drs. Canales and Padilla specialize in deformity correction.

3. The Nautilis system includes pre-timed locking cap assembly designed to reduce the chance of cross-threading.
