Life Spine launches new pedicle spine system: 5 things to know

Spinal Tech

Life Spine unveiled its latest spine system, the Centric-T Pedicle-Based Retractor System.

Here are five things to know:

1. The new system is part of Life Spine's Centric Access Portfolio.

2. Life Spine designed the Centric-T Pedicle Retractor to deliver micro-invasive access and foraminal distraction during transforaminal lumbar interbody fusions.

3. The system's targeted pedicles guide the initial exposure and simplify the process of anatomical orientation. Additionally, the pedicle-based blade fixation is designed to give a rigid foundation for surgical access to the intervertebral discs.

4. Centric-T Pedicle Retractor also features up to 30 degrees of blade tow supplement to provide direct access to the contralateral anatomy.

5. Donald Kucharzyk, MD, was one of the first surgeons to use the system. He said, "The Centric-T Retractor has provided me with a well-designed, reproducible solution for micro-invasive access during my [minimally invasive] TLIFs. Unlike other systems on the market, Centric-T generates a powerful distraction while allowing me to maintain a minimally invasive approach."
