The list gathered information about the actions of LinkedIn's 546 million users, including interest in a company; engagement with employees; job demand as well as retention. The list features 50 companies from across industries, with Amazon leading the pack at No. 1.

The remaining top five companies include:

Stryker ranked No. 30, and has appeared on several other top places to work lists nationally in the past 10 years. The company ranked ahead of the NBA, Nike and WeWork on the list, as well as another healthcare company, Johnson & Johnson.

Johnson & Johnson ranked No. 45 on the list, known for its consumer health business and beauty products, but it also produces orthopedic and spine devices through DePuy Synthes. The company has several offerings to improve work/life balance for employees, including Energy for Performance Courses, extended volunteer leave and child care benefits.
