K2M signs long term distribution agreement: 5 takeaways

K2M signed a long term exclusive distribution agreement with Japan Medicalnext for the distribution of K2M's spinal technologies.

Here are five takeaways:

 

1. The agreement extends the companies' partnership for up to seven years.

 

2. Japan Medicalnext, a Mitsubishi subsidiary, is known for medical device distribution in the spinal surgery market.

 

3. In April, K2M secured registrations from Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency for various products, including its MESA and EVEREST Spinal Systems.

 

4. Eric Major, K2M president, said, "We are pleased to announce a new, long term exclusive distribution agreement with Japan Medicalnext and look forward to this partnership enhancing out potential to increase our market share beyond our existing relationships in Japan's estimated $300 million spine market."

 

5. K2M's Balance ASC is a growing platform of products, services and research to help surgeons achieve 3D spinal balance across axial, coronal and sagittal planes, with the goal of supporting the full continuum of care to facilitate quality patient outcomes.
