FDA approves full-body MRI for St. Jude Medical's Proclaim Elite SCS System: 5 key points

The FDA approved full-body magnetic resonance conditional labeling for St. Jude Medical's Proclaim Elite Spinal Cord Stimulation System.

Here are five key points:

 

1. Patients using the Proclaim Elite SCS system may now receive full-body MRI diagnostic scans in approved parameters.

 

2. Additionally, patients will be able to access BurstDR stimulation therapy benefits.

 

3. BurstDR stimulation therapy utilizes intermittent burst pulses intended to copy the body's natural nerve impulse patterns.

 

4. BurstDR stimulation is designed to decrease a patients' physical pain and address the patient's emotional response to pain by measuring visual analogue scale scoring.

 

5. The Proclaim Elite SCS system features Bluetooth wireless technology, allowing patients to control their therapy with an Apple iPod touch device.
