Miliman report analyzes procedures for lumbar spinal stenosis

Paradigm Spine commissioned a Miliman report titled, "Utilization and Cost for Surgery for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis in a Commercially Insured Population" that was recently published.

The analysis reports a 20 percent to 40 percent replacement of primary lumbar fusion surgeries with decompression and interlaminar stabilization device could reduce costs $0.25 to $0.49 per member per month.

"All stakeholders, including patients, physicians, payers, providers and policy-makers, are critically focused on cost-effective healthcare therapeutic solutions which provide sustainable and durable treatment effects to a large population," said Paradigm Spine CEO and Chairman Marc Viscogliosi. "The independent analysis, combined with Paradigm Spine's long term clinical data publications, continues to support technologies such as coflex interlaminar stabilization providing improved patient outcomes and cost savings to the health system."

Miliman does not intend to endorse any product or organization with the paper.
