OrthoGrid creates new total hip replacement guide for HipGrid line: 5 notes

Spinal Tech

Salt Lake City-based OrthoGrid Systems developed the HipGrid Drone, a non-invasive fluoroscopic guide for total hip replacements.

Here are five notes:

1. The intraoperative radiographic alignment system is intended for anterior and posterior total hip replacement.

2. Reusable and non-sterile, the device is also available through a pricing model that incentivizes administrative expense reductions.

3. HipGrid Drone is the second generation product in the HipGrid line launched one year ago.

4. The HipGrid technology allows surgeons to see concealed data in an intraoperative X-ray. The data offers surgeons key information that increases precision during surgery.

5. OrthoGrid plans to commercially release the device in the fourth quarter of 2015.

"After years of observing this technology at work, we are confident that any surgeon trialing the new HipGrid Drone will discover new information that enhances the quality of intraoperative assessment of key elements of total hip surgery," said Richard Boddington, co-founder, OrthoGrid Systems.
