MicroPort Orthopedics announced that Jimmy Chow, MD, has performed more than 1,000 total hip arthroplasty surgeries using the SuperPath Hip technique.
The Supercapsular Percutaneously Assisted Total Hip technique is a modification of the standard posterior hip approach. It aims to preserve of the external rotators, decrease operative time as well as intraoperative blood loss and postoperative stability. The SuperPath Hip technique was launched in 2010.
Dr. Chow is a partner at the Hedley Orthopaedic Institute in Phoenix. He is also director of orthopedics, hip and joint Surgery at St. Luke's Medical Center, also in Phoenix.
