6 Spine & Orthopedic Device Companies Expanding

Here are six spine and orthopedic device companies that have recently announced expanded locations or expansion into new markets.

 

SpineGuard, based in Paris and San Francisco, has expanded into the Mexican market with clearance from the country's healthcare regulatory authority, COFEPRIS. The clearance allows SpineGuard to sell its PediGuard Curved and Curved XS devices in the country.

 

Wright Medical Group, based in Memphis, Tenn., will expand with the $75 million acquisition of Biotech International. Biotech is a French orthopedic device manufacturer with a focus on foot and ankle implants.

 

Biomet, based in Warsaw, Ind., has agreed to acquire the minimally invasive spine technology company Lanx. The acquisition will expand Biomet's portfolio to include Lanx systems such as the Aspen Minimally Invasive Fusion System and Timberline Lateral Approach Fusion System.

 

Chesterfield, Mo.-based ulrich medical USA has relocated its headquarters to a larger facility in the city. The new facility is triple the size. The company has also tripled its number of employees.

 

Stryker, based in Kalamazoo, Mich., will expand with the $1.65 billion acquisition of MAKO Surgical. Stryker will incorporate MAKO's technology into the company's already established orthopedics platform to advance the growth of robotic assisted surgery.

 

Medtronic has opened a Customer Innovation Center in Galway, Ireland. The new site includes hybrid, demonstration and collaboration labs.
