Dr. Neal ElAttrache to give second opinion on Diamondbacks pitcher's elbow: 5 insights

Neal ElAttrache, MD, of Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, will offer a second opinion on an Arizona Diamondbacks' elbow pain, according to dbacks.com.

Here are five insights:

 

1. On April 23, Diamondbacks starting pitcher Shelby Miller exited the game in the fifth inning after noticing forearm tightness.

 

2. Team physician Gary Waslewski, MD, initially assessed Mr. Miller.

 

3. The team did not comment on the player's MRI, but reported there was "elbow inflammation."

 

4. Dr. ElAttrache serves as head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Rams.

 

5. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.
