Georgia hospital receives Spinal Fusion gold seal of approval: 5 key notes

The Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon, Ga., received Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Spinal Fusions, according to a report from The Telegraph.

1. Surveyors examined Coliseum Northside Hospital's compliance with national disease-specific standards and spinal fusion-specific requirements. The hospital's clinical practice guidelines and performance measures were examined as well.

 

2. Coliseum Northside Hospital is the second facility in Georgia to receive the gold seal for spinal fusion.

 

3. There are six surgeons who provide care at the hospital's orthopedic and spine center. Patients have access to a full spectrum of care there, including rehabilitation.

 

4. The spine center includes an O-arm Multidimensional Surgical Imaging System.

 

5. In addition to the Joint Commission certification, the hospital has been designated a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery based on quality outcomes for patients.
