Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. John Tydings of Central Jersey Spine Associates

John D. Tydings, MD, founded Central Jersey Spine Associates in Lawrenceville, N.J., in 1995. He previously practiced with Trenton (N.J.) Orthopaedic Group and is the former director of spinal trauma at Capital Health Systems in Trenton. He is on staff at Centrastate Medical Center in Freehold, N.J. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, American College of Surgeons and New Jersey Spine Society.

Dr. Tydings is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and focuses on the treatment of spinal disorders as well as spinal technology advances, including interbody fusions and minimally invasive spine surgery. He has won numerous awards over the course of his career, such as the NIH Summer Research Fellowship. His work has been published in the book "Spine Surgery: Tricks of the Trade" and The American Journal of Surgery.  

 

Dr. Tydings earned his medical degree at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College and completed his residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He has completed a spine surgery fellowship at K.D. Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, K.Y.
