Mazor Robotics recently announced its robotic technology has been used to guide more than 15,000 implants during routine and complex spine surgery, according to a company news release.
Dennis P. Devito, MD, a spine surgeon focusing on scoliosis care, reported clinical accuracy of 99.7 percent for 1,815 implants he placed using the technology in 120 adolescent patients.
To date, no surgeons using the technology have reported cases of permanent nerve damage.
