ZimVie's 2021 revenue, NuVasive wins $1.6M and more: 6 device company notes

NuVasive's court win, payer approval of artificial disc replacement and four more updates from spine devicemakers in the last week:

1. A judge for the U.S. District Court of the District of Massachusetts awarded NuVasive $1.6 million in damages after finding a former employee of the devicemaker breached his noncompete and nonsolicitation clauses.

2. ZimVie, Zimmer Biomet's spine and dental spinoff company, cracked $1 billion in third-party revenue and is on track to see similar results in 2022.

3. Stefan Renaud, DO, performed the first case with Amplify Surgical's 15-degree lordotic DualX interbody fusion implant. 

4. SpineGuard's PediGuard threaded instrument was cleared by the FDA for anterior approach spine procedures.

5. A third-party payer established positive coverage for one- and two-level lumbar disc replacement with Centinel Spine's Prodisc L, the devicemaker said April 5.

6. Restor3d, a musculoskeletal devicemaker, raised $23 million to expand the delivery of personalized 3D-printed implants and to develop software for engineers.
