Paul R. Fleissner, MD, of Akron, Ohio-based Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center collaborated with Exactech to create the Reveille Cartilage Processor, designed to make knee operations more efficient and successful, according to The Suburbanite.
Here are five things to know:
1. The Reveille Cartilage Processor reduces the number of surgeries needed from two to one and reduces post-operation pain.
2. Previous procedures required one surgery to remove and harvest cartilage and a second to perform the transplant.
3. The previous method required six to eight weeks in between surgeries.
4. Dr. Fleissner has performed several procedures using the Reveille Cartilage Processor.
5. He prefers this procedure due to the lack of pain it causes and the more permanent fix it offers patients.
