Edge Spine & Joint Medical Center manager allegedly embezzled $52K+ — 5 things to know

Investigators claim the manager at Edge Spine & Joint Medical Center in Greensburg, Pa., stole $52,625 over a six-month period, according to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Here are five things to know:

1. The manager now faces multiple charges, including counts of theft, receiving stolen property and forgery.

2. Between June 15 and Nov. 8, investigators allege the manager wrote 23 checks and forged signatures, spurring discrepancies in Edge Spine & Joint Medical Center's bank accounts.

3. The manager allegedly deposited the checks in her own bank account before quitting. After she quit, Edge Spine & Joint Medical Center became aware of the discrepancies.

4. According to investigators, the manager claimed the checks were "bonuses." However, Edge Spine & Joint Medical Center claims it did not authorize bonuses.

5. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19, 2019.
