15+ orthopedic, hospital partnerships in 2025

More than 15 orthopedic groups have banded with hospitals and health systems in 2025.

1. Mount Pleasant, S.C.-based Southeastern Spine Institute joined Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health.

2. Novant Health has acquired Raleigh, N.C.-based Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine, which has multiple locations in the area.

3. Novant Health announced its affiliation with Supply, N.C.-based Leighton Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.

4. Penn State Health and Lancaster Orthopedic Group, both in Pennsylvania, inked an affiliation agreement that took effect Jan. 31. Under the agreement, Lancaster Orthopedic Group physicians will also extend their services to Berks County, and some will join the staff at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, Pa.

5. Bend, Ore.-based St. Charles Health System has officially completed an affiliation with The Center Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care, also in Bend. The Center is now part of the St. Charles System and operates under the name St. Charles Center for Orthopedics and Neurosurgery.

6. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health and Las Vegas-based Crovetti Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine inked a joint venture agreement for patient care in Nevada.

7. Fisherville, Va.-based Augusta Health has added Shenandoah Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine to its system.

8. Monterey (Calif.) Spine and Joint joined Monterey-based Montage Health. The decision to join the health system came amid challenges with declining insurance reimbursement and rising costs.

9. Novant Health has added Performance Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine in Cary, N.C., to its network.

10. Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based Mercy has added Midwest Orthopedic Group and Midwest Pain and Spine Center.

11. Associated Orthopaedics of Kingsport (Tenn.) has joined Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health Medical Associates.

12. Lewiston, Idaho-based St. Joseph Regional Medical Center is acquiring Lewiston Orthopedics, part of Lewiston, Idaho-based Catalyst Medical Group.

13. Hutchinson (Kan.) Regional Healthcare added Alliance Orthopedics & Sports Medicine to its network.

14. Helena, Mont.-based St. Peter’s Health Orthopaedics and Helena (Mont.) Orthopaedic Clinic signed letters of intent to partner.

15. Bettendorf, Iowa-based ORA Orthopedics and UnityPoint Health – Trinity hospitals partnered effective Dec. 18.

16. Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., is adding Southwest Bone and Joint Institute to expand orthopedic services.

17. Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation, part of Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, has partnered with a California orthopedic and sports medicine practice.
