Materialise NV signed an agreement with Swiss orthopedic producer Mathys for the use of Materialise's Shoulder Guide System.
Here are four highlights:
1. Headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, Materialise provides 3-D software and sophisticated 3-D printing solutions.
2. The Materialise Shoulder Guide System allows surgeons to efficiently and accurately plan shoulder surgeries based on the patient's unique anatomy.
3. Based on that preoperative plan, patient-specific guidelines are designed and 3-D printed for use during surgery.
4. Hilde Ingelaere, executive vice president of Materialise's Medical Segment stated the company's goal is to enable even more surgeons to discover the benefits of 3-D printing in the planning and execution of total and reverse shoulder replacement surgeries.
