Newt Gingrich, current Republican presidential candidate front-runner, is backing off prior support of electronic health records in what might be an effort to retain his political position, according to a report by The Hill.
In the past, Mr. Gingrich's proposed a "brain science" program that included plans for EHRs. In August, he told The Hill that tapping the human brain for advancement in science would require, among other things, changes in the Food and Drug Administration, including increasing the use of EHRs, according to the report.
