Dr. David Fischer auctioning off signed 1992 Olympic Men’s Basketball Dream Team poster & shoes

The University of Minnesota’s David Fischer, MD, was the team physician for the 1992 U.S. Men’s Olympic basketball team, better known as the Dream Team, and now he’s auctioning off a signed poster from the team, according to the Pittsburgh Courier.

Dr. Fischer put up nearly all of his memorabilia from the summer games for auction, including a pair of game-warn, autographed shoes from the entire roster and his Dream Team Olympic championship ring. The team includes several star players:

 

• Michael Jordan
• Larry Bird
• Magic Johnson
• Charles Barkley
• Scottie Pippen
• Karl Malone
• Patrick Ewing

 

Heritage Auctions is handling the online auction, which is already open for bids. The auction will close 10pm on May 13, with an extended bid process that will go to the highest unchallenged bidder after 30 minutes.

 

Dr. Fischer is an adjunct associate professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Minnesota and a member of TRIA Orthopaedic Center. He is the medical director of quality improvement for TRIA and a former team physician for the Minnesota Vikings. He is a team physician for the Minnesota Timebrwolves as well.
