Here are four things to know:

1. As part of ASMS’s Exercise is Medicine initiative, the program calls for physical activity promotion across campus as well as aiming to connect student healthcare professionals to fitness professionals for referrals for appropriate exercise prescription.

2. The Silver level distinction means Penn State’s program worked toward the goal of incorporating physical activity as part of routine healthcare visits.

3. Silver level campuses must also be involved in at least three programs which range from training students to educate others, as well as conducting campus seminars on physical activity.

4. Those recognized as part of the program, including Penn State, will be honored during the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Meeting on May 29 in San Diego.
