Here are five orthopedic surgeons who treated professional athletes in the last month.

Neal S. ElAttrache, MD, performed shoulder surgery on boxer Many Pacquiao, reports PostBulliten.com.

 

Dr. ElAttrache also performed Tommy John surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy.

 

David W. Altchek, MD, of Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, performed shoulder surgery on Cleveland Cavaliers' star forward Kevin Love.

 

Richard Ferkel, MD, director of the sports medicine fellowship program at Southern California Orthopedic Institute, performed arthroscopic ankle surgery on Phoenix Suns' guard Brandon Knight.

 

Dr. Ferkel also performed ankle surgery on the Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio.

 

J.W. Thomas Byrd, MD, performed a three-hour surgery at Nashville Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center to repair a torn labrum of the hip on Kansas University sophomore guard Brannan Greene.

 

Robert Anderson, MD, of OrthoCarolina Charlotte in North Carolina, performed ankle surgery on the Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic to repair his right Achilles tendon.
