Dalai Lama treated at Hospital for Special Surgery

The Dalai Lama had a knee replacement at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery on June 28.

He is expected to make a full recovery and was discharged June 30, David Mayman, MD, said in a June 29 news release.

The Dalai Lama is the 14th dalai lama and is the head of Tibetan Buddhism.
