Peter Ramsey, MD, completed the first artificial intelligence-assisted hip replacement in March.
Dr. Ramsey, of OrthoSC in Myrtle Beach, performed the procedure March 22 using the OrthoGrid system, a spokesperson for the practice said in a July 17 email to Becker's. He operated at Conway (S.C.) Medical Center.
OrthoGrid has hip-specific software and is designed to reduce operating time, according to its website.
