Advanced Orthopedic Center was recognized by the Port Charlotte Sun as the Best Orthopedic Practice for 2020. The practice announced in July the addition of two surgeons.
American Hip Institute (Des Plaines, Ill.)

Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic (Arlington, Va.)
The Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic was founded more than 60 years ago by Otto Anderson Engh, MD, to treat children afflicted with polio. Its physicians perform joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, extremities and spine care and are also involved with the Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute, which uses a computerized database of more than 10,000 patients with total joint replacements and post-mortem-retrieved hip and knee implants to study the effectiveness of treatments and improve patient care. Arête Surgical Center (Johnstown, Colo.)
Arête Surgical Center is a 15,000-square-foot facility that was built in 2013. It is accredited by The Joint Commission and features three operating rooms, six overnight rooms, four preoperative bays, four pain management bays and two post-anesthesia bays. The center's six physicians are led by CEO Scott Dhupar, MD, and Medical Director Thomas Coburn, MD. Arête offers services in artificial disc replacement, spinal fusion, traumatic injuries and arthroscopy.
Barrington Orthopedic Specialists (Schaumburg, Ill.)
Keith Schroeder, MD, established Barrington Orthopedic Specialists in 1980. The practice has 16 physicians, and many of them participate in volunteer mission trips to serve patients who can't afford surgery.
CarePlex Orthopaedic Ambulatory Surgery Center (Hampton, Va.)

Founded more than 40 years ago, the physicians at Cincinnati SportsMedicine and Orthopaedic Center treat knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, ankle and foot conditions. The practice is affiliated with the Cincinnati SportsMedicine Research and Education Foundation, which has fostered the research for more than 250 articles and 50 research studies.
Coastal Orthopedics (Bradenton, Fla.)
Founded in 1973, Coastal Orthopedics has 20 physicians, three office locations and one surgery center in Florida. The practice's physicians offer care in total joint reconstruction, spinal surgery, hand and wrist surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, foot and ankle surgery, pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation. It broke ground on an 88,000-square-foot medical center in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., in March.

Connecticut Orthopaedics (Hamden)
Connecticut Orthopaedics was founded in 1963 by two orthopedic surgeons and has grown to include more than 50 providers across 20 locations. It is the largest privately-owned orthopedic practice in New England, according to its website. The practice offers services including joint replacement, pediatric care, podiatry, pain management, sports medicine and arthroscopy.
Desert Institute for Spine Care (Phoenix)
Anthony Yeung, MD, founded the Squaw Peak Surgical Facility in 1998, and nine years later he and his son Christopher Yeung, MD, were joined by Justin Field, MD, to form the Desert Institute for Spine Care. Six orthopedic surgeons now operate out of DISC's five locations across Arizona. Dr. Anthony Yeung developed the Yeung Endoscopic Spine System, a pioneering arthroscopic spine surgery instrument system.
Edmonds Orthopedic Center has nine surgeons. Specialties include hip, knee, shoulder, hand and wrist, foot and ankle and elbow treatments.
EmergeOrtho (Durham, N.C.)
EmergeOrtho was founded in August 2016, when four of North Carolina’s top orthopedic practices joine together. Today, EmergeOrtho is the largest physician-owned orthopedic practice in the state and fifth largest in the country with over 1,800 employees across 45 outpatient offices, which are all linked by the same EHR system. Oklahoma Joint Reconstruction Institute (Oklahoma City)
Oklahoma Joint Reconstruction Institute was founded in 2014 and has two physicians. The center uses Stryker's Mako robot for hip and knee replacements.

OrthoCarolina (Charlotte, N.C.)
OrthoCarolina was founded in 1922. It is one of the largest orthopedic practices in the U.S., with 137 physicians on staff. The practice has more than 30 orthopedic locations and nine urgent care centers, according to its website. It also has five specialized clinics and more than 20 physical therapy centers. CEO Bruce Cohen, MD, was named president of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society in September 2020.
OrthoConnecticut has nine locations and sees more than 36,000 patients each year. The practice added a third spine surgeon in August.
The Orthopaedic and Spine Center of Southern Colorado (Colorado Springs)
The Orthopaedic and Spine Center of Southern Colorado opened in September 2014. The ASC and 24-hour recovery center employs 19 physicians offering services in foot and ankle surgery, hand surgery, joint reconstruction, spine surgery, pain management and sports medicine.
Founded in 1983, Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron has grown into one of the community's largest orthopedic practices. Eight physicians operate out of the practice and specialize in treatment of the back, neck and spine; foot and ankle; hand, elbow, shoulder and wrist; and reconstruction of the hip, knee and other joints.
Orthopaedic Associates of St. Augustine has seven physicians and two locations. Both centers have an on-site MRI.

The Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania has more than 25 physicians. The practice opened its eighth location in Carlisle, Pa., in June 2021.
OrthoSouth (Memphis, Tenn.)

OrthoVirginia is the first practice in the state to offer the Ambra X-ray viewing service. The practice employs 133 physicians and 1,900 employees across 33 clinics, making it Virginia's largest provider of orthopedic medicine and therapy.

The Pediatric Orthopedic Center (Cedar Knolls, N.J.)
The Pediatric Orthopedic Center operates out of four offices in northern New Jersey, where it has provided services for more than 25 years. It is the largest pediatric orthopedic practice in the region, with nine musculoskeletal clinicians, including seven pediatric orthopedic physicians and two pediatric foot and ankle specialists. Founded in 1989, the Presidio Surgery Center is a California Pacific Medical Center affiliate and is accredited by The Joint Commission. Medical director Dan Perlov, MD, leads the 18 orthopedic surgeons and two spine specialists operating out of the center.

St. George Surgical Center is an 11,000-square-foot facility and the only ASC in southern Utah with overnight capabilities. The center has posted transparent surgery prices online since 2014.
